The Annual Broward County Waterway Cleanup is FREE to participate in and a great way to spend your weekend with friends and family or as a team-building activity for student organizations, clubs, or scout troops.

As part of the Waterway Cleanup, MIASF provides more than $2,250 in scholarship opportunities for Broward County middle and high school students through art, short story, and essay contests. More information about these opportunities and submission deadlines can be found at: waterwaycleanup.org/scholarship-opportunities. Students can also receive up to four hours of community service for participating in the cleanup.

On the day of the cleanup, volunteers will get a free event T-shirt featuring a local high schooler’s artwork (while supplies last). Trash bags and gloves will be provided at each site. Afterward, volunteers are invited to celebrate their hard work with food, beverages, live music, and raffles at our annual Trash Bash post-event.
